Starting on Monday, June 14, Calgary Transit Access (CTA) will begin gradually increasing passenger limits on all vehicles. You may or may not notice more customers sharing your trip, depending on trip demands. This will be a gradual process where we increase capacity based on the current COVID-19 situation; we will adjust as needed to ensure we are following safety guidelines – this means we could increase passenger capacity or decrease it if necessary. We continue to recommend wearing your face covering if you do not have a medical condition preventing you from wearing one. You can learn more about The City’s face covering bylaw below.
Vaccination numbers are continuing to go up which is encouraging but CTA will continue to ask health screening questions when customers call the Booking Centre to request a trip; we continue to ask if you feel unwell, that you please stay home.
COVID-19
On July 5, 2021, Calgary City Council voted to end the temporary face coverings bylaw, however, customers are still required to wear a face covering when using public transit services like Calgary Transit Access. You can learn more about the provincial mandate here.
We are asking all customers to continue wearing their face covering when taking a trip with us.
Calgary Transit Access (CTA) is committed to maintaining our current service promise to our customers.
CTA is doing its part by ensuring we provide clean, well- sanitized vehicles and enforcing good hygiene practices amongst all our employees and partner agencies.
As part of our efforts to keep customers and employees safe, even as vaccinations begin, we are going to continue with our health screening questions when you call to request a trip.
However, in order to maintain this service, we are asking our customers to answer the following questions before booking a trip:
:
Q1. Are you experiencing flu-related symptoms such as a fever, cough, runny nose or difficulty breathing that are not related to a preexisting health condition or illness (such as seasonal allergies)? |
:
Yes / No |
:
Q2. Have you been directed to self-isolate or quarantine? |
:
Yes / No |
:
Q3. Have you been confirmed positive for COVID-19? |
:
Yes / No |
If you have answered “YES” to any of these questions, CTA recommends that you stay home or consider another mode of transportation.
We understand this is a challenging time and we appreciate your help as the COVID-19 situation develops.
We are asking all of our customers to cover their cough, wash their hands frequently and to stay home if they feel sick. You can learn more by visiting the Calgary Emergency Management Agency’s (CEMA) page about COVID-19 or going onlineacces to the World Health Organization (WHO) for tips on how to manage during this event.
Every year, Calgary Transit Access provides over one million trips to nearly 15,000 Calgarians that cannot use Calgary Transit services due to a disability. We work with our customers to determine eligibility, book trips and coordinate their pickup and drop off.
We deliver safe, responsive and courteous public transportation services through partnerships with various service providers. So no matter which provider you ride with, we hope you have a safe and enjoyable experience using our service.
